John's catalogue pose
Geeks - you've gotta love 'em. Yes, they can be irritating when quoting obscure Spock-isms for the millionth time but they certainly know their stuff when it comes to creating cool T-shirts, especially ones that do more than simply cover the upper body. Enter the truly ingenious WiFi Detecting T-Shirt.
As its name suggests, this hi-tech garment lets you know when you're in a WiFi zone by graphically displaying the WiFi connections floating around the vicinity. Glowing bars on the front of the shirt dynamically change as the signal strength fluctuates. Clever, eh?
Watch it light up
Armed with this so-nerdy-it's-cool gear there's no need to crack open your laptop or fiddle with your PDA searching for nearby WiFi signals. Wear it anywhere - from coffee shops and airports to hotels and forthcoming Friends of DeForest Kelley Conventions. The possibilities are endless. Kind of.
Glowing bars dynamically change as the signal strength fluctuates
Capable of showing strengths of 802.11b or 802.11g (whatever that means), the WiFi Detecting T-Shirt is destined to become an essential travelling companion for all you roving surfers. Simply check out your chest and get connected. It's just like being bionic. Well, ish.
lets you know when you're in a WiFi zone
As well as its undeniable practicality, this über-hip tee looks pretty darned cool. And in terms of showing off your geek credentials it beats all those 'My other car is a Millennium Falcon/I don't remember this sci-fi show but I'll pretend to' T-shirts by a country mile.
Small battery pack
So how does this tribute to geekocity work? We'd love to say it receives its power remotely from a subterranean base hidden somewhere beneath the Mojave Desert, but the truth is there's a sleek little battery pack hidden in the hem. Simply switch on and start scanning. The WiFi Detecting T-Shirt is set to become a must-have accessory amongst fashion-conscious geeks, WiFi fans and fluent Klingon speaking tech-heads the world over, so hit the Buy button and start receiving all the right signals. Quapla!

Great idea, Firefox!
"Wear it anywhere - from coffee shops and airports to hotels and forthcoming Friends of DeForest Kelley Conventions. "
You wouldn't look at all suspicious wearing a t-shirt with batteries and a wire in an airport!
Firebox says: Good point Charlie, maybe not such a good idea to wear it in airports after all. Charlie, Coventry - Feb '08 |
